Structural or Geotechnical Project Engineer

Role Summary:

This individual provides high-level, technical expertise in the field of structural and/or geotechnical engineering to support various marine and waterfront projects, including, but not limited to, field inspection, analysis, design and preparation of plans and technical specifications for piers, wharves, mooring structures, bulkheads, seawalls and other waterfront structures. Specific experience with design of marine structures is not required for these positions.

Reports to:

  • Project Managers / Principals

Key responsibilities include, but not necessarily limited to:

  • Performs tasks in the field of structural and/or geotechnical analysis and design; including but not limited to reinforced concrete design, steel design, timber design, pile and foundation design

  • Implements design best practices in areas of expertise and ensures conformance with all applicable codes, standards, and client requirements

  • Performs and reviews structural analysis and design calculations

  • Prepares construction documents

  • Performs/oversees construction administration activities

  • Work independently under Project Manager’s guidance and within RACE’s standard practices

  • Provide mentoring and guidance to junior engineers

 

Qualifications & Skills Required:

 

  • Professional Engineer License

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Structural or Geotechnical Engineering.

  • 5-10+ years previous structural or geotechnical engineering

  • AutoCAD experience

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Self-motivated, flexible, and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to work part of a team and independently
