Replacement of Veteran's Memorial Park Public Marina

Previous dock facility at Veteran's Memorial Park in Norwalk, CT
Norwalk, CT is a community that thrives on the waterfront and public access to Norwalk Harbor and Long Island Sound. The floating docks at Veterans Memorial Park on Seaview Ave have been deteriorating and, with the support of State grants, the City’s marina is being replaced.

RACE has been working with the City of Norwalk’s Engineering, Recreation and Parks Departments to secure state, federal, and local permits, design the marina docks to accommodate 20-25 ft vessels as well as personal watercraft and ultimately revitalize the public marina docks and parking lot on the east side of Veterans Memorial Park.

With input from the Harbor Management Commission and funding through the Connecticut Port Authority’s Small Harbor Improvement Project Program (SHIPP), this project is becoming a reality. The City broke ground on the project in late 2025 with Terry Contracting & Materials removing the existing floats, pilings, ramps, and piers and installing a new robust concrete floating dock, upgraded utilities, and ADA-compliant ramps for access. The new facility will be able to accommodate 60 boats, 4 personal watercraft, and dinghy storage for boaters in the mooring field.

Once complete, the upgraded public marina will expand public access to Norwalk Harbor and Long Island Sound, improve the accessibility for all boaters, and better support the boats that use the mooring field.
