Record Participation at the 2025 Intercollegiate Regatta

College sailors from across the Country and Canada competed in the annual big boat regatta off Larchmont, NY.
RACE proudly sponsored the 2025 Intercollegiate Offshore Regatta (IOR), presented by ShopRite of Carteret, off Larchmont, NY over Columbus Day weekend. The largest collegiate regatta in the Country, the IOR offers the opportunity for undergraduates – this year 49 teams comprised of 384 college sailors from the United States and Canada - to compete in big boats.
Bringing college sailors together for this event is an opportunity eagerly supported by Storm Trysail Club, Storm Trysail Foundation, Larchmont Yacht Club, numerous volunteers, boat owners and sponsors. “It’s exciting to be part of this event and to see how it has grown over the years. We are thrilled to help inspire new offshore sailors,” said RACE Project Engineer Suzy Bradford.
After racing on Saturday, RACE’s President Devin Santa gave a presentation at the event titled After the Finish – A Few Things Ocean Racing Has Taught Me About Life and Leadership. Devin noted “Offshore sailing has been a key part of my personal and professional development. It has certainly taught me to respect the ocean which is critical in my professional field of coastal engineering. I am excited to see the next generation be given this opportunity that has meant so much to me.”
We’re already excited for next year. For more information about the IOR, go to https://stormtrysail.org/regattas/intercollegiate-regatta/
