RACE Coastal Engineering (RACE) President, Devin J. Santa, PE is excited to join Fairfield University’s Center for Climate, Coastal and Marine Studies’ Advisory Board. The Center fosters research and collaboration among faculty and students across various academic departments to address challenges facing coastal regions, including climate impacts, coastal resilience, and effective reporting of scientific findings.
The collaboration brings together RACE’s practical experience in coastal engineering with the University’s strengths in research and education. Together, the partnership aims to advance resilient design strategies, support industry-focused research, and help prepare future coastal professionals.
“I am excited to work with Fairfield University’s Center for Climate, Coastal and Marine Studies,” said RACE’s President Devin Santa, P.E. “This is a unique opportunity to strengthen our community’s understanding of the challenges we face while also supporting meaningful learning and research opportunities.
Sharing research with the broader community is a key goal of the Center. For example, as part of its outreach efforts, the Center hosts the Coastal Call podcast, which highlights ongoing discussions in coastal science, policy, and research.
Devin and the RACE Team look forward to actively engaging with the Center, contributing to research initiatives, and supporting solutions that enhance coastal resilience across the region.
