RACE Coastal Engineering (RACE) is proud to announce that Matt Williams, P.E., Senior Structural Engineer, has completed the Port Engineering Certificate Program developed by the American Society of Civil Engineers. The Program is a specialized series of courses covering port operations, design, construction, repair, and maintenance.

“In addition to the Port Program deepening my understanding of coastal factors and loads impacting the design of commercial maritime structures, the courses focused on standards specific to assessing the condition of shipping terminals and prioritizing improvements for safe and uninterrupted operations,” said Matt.

Matt has 20-years of experience assessing and designing a wide range of waterfront and upland structures utilizing an array of construction materials including steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and timber. While at RACE, Matt has been instrumental in numerous shoreline projects including, to name a few, inspecting oil terminals, inspecting steel sheet pile bulkheads surrounding large manufacturing facilities and designing the pile supported rail system for the 700-ton travel-lift that extends into Bridgeport Harbor (CT).

RACE is proud of Matt’s ongoing professional development. Congratulations Matt!
