Role Summary:


Our Engineers spend the majority of their time designing projects on or near the water.  Whether it is designing a ferry terminal pier for a municipality, analyzing the dune stability for private residences, performing a hydrographic survey onboard our survey vessels, or conducting a commercial bulkhead inspection, our team is dedicated to providing our clients with top-notch designs and excellent service. 


We have an opportunity for an entry level engineer with training in the field of civil, geotechnical or coastal engineering. An advanced degree is highly preferred.  As our projects are along the waterfront, the person in this position should have an interest and comfort level of being around and on the water to support various marine and waterfront projects, including, but not limited to, analysis, design and preparation of plans and technical specifications for piers, wharves, mooring structures, bulkhead, seawalls, dredging and other waterfront projects.

Reports to:

  • Project Managers / Principals

Key responsibilities include, but not necessarily limited to:


  • Perform tasks on projects requiring knowledge in the field of Civil (Structural), Geotechnical and/or Coastal engineering;

  • Perform field work including survey data acquisition, hydrographic surveys, and site investigations to document existing conditions of structures;

  • Perform structural analysis, design calculations, cost estimates

  • Prepare reports, regulatory permit applications, and other project deliverables


Qualifications & Skills Required:


  • Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in either Civil (Structural), Geotechnical or Coastal Engineering; Advanced degree preferred;

  • Engineer-in-Training Certification with ability to obtain Professional Engineer Registration;

  • AutoCAD experience;

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

  • Self-motivated, flexible, and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment;

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills;

  • Ability to work independently and part of a team; and

  • Interest and comfort level with being around, in and on the water
