Civil Engineer
Role Summary:
​
This individual provides technical expertise in the field of civil engineering to support various waterfront projects, including, but not limited to, field inspection, analysis, design and preparation of plans and technical specifications for land development including roadway, site grading, drainage analysis and design. The Civil Engineer will be responsible to prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor assigned engineering projects, complying with applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications.

Key responsibilities include, but not necessarily limited to:​

Performs tasks on projects requiring a broad and/or deep knowledge in the field of civil engineering;

Implements design best practices in areas of expertise, in addition, ensures conformance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements;

Performs and reviews analysis and design calculations, prepares plans, specifications and cost estimates;

Prepares construction documents;
-
Performs/oversees construction administration activities;
-
Work independently under Project Manager’s guidance and within RACE’s standard practices;

Communicate directly with clients, contractors, regulatory agents and other project stakeholders;

Determine and delegate to appropriate technical staff;

Provide mentoring and guidance to junior engineers; and
-
Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications & Skills Required:​

Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. Master of Science degree preferred;

Professional Engineer Registration or ability to obtain;
-
3-7 years related project-based civil engineering experience with an emphasis on land development and stormwater management design including H&H analysis, construction, maintenance, and rehabilitation;

AutoCAD experience;

Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
-
Self-motivated, flexible, and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment;

Strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills;
-
Ability to work part of a team and independently; and
-
Interest and comfort level with being around, in and on the water.
