Steve Sternberg is a Civil/Structural Engineer with additional graduate level education in Coastal Engineering. He has performed a multitude of engineering tasks specific to the marine environment
including the structural inspection of timber, steel, and concrete coastal structures, development of lateral wave loading criteria, and performance of hydrographic surveys. His work on hydrographic surveys has been the basis for numerous dredge planning studies and performance on dredging projects for marinas, yacht clubs, and municipal facilities. He has additional experience in the design of marina facilities, pile supported structures, and navigation basins and channels and is highly knowledgeable in the regulatory permitting process required by the State and Federal agencies.
Steve joined RACE in 2010. His quick wit and vast engineering knowledge made it an easy decision for RACE or perhaps it was mainly due to the fact that Steve had played college lacrosse, similar to that of Founder, John Roberge. Lacrosse is still a passion for Steve today as he continues his playing career through post-collegiate leagues in the area. When not surveying a mooring field or playing lacrosse, Steve enjoys spending his free time with friends and family and golfing (or at least trying to). Steve and his wife Diana, are parents to a son, Drake, and welcomed their second son, Luke, in September.
