RACE was engaged by a Private Recreation Club located in Long Island, NY to perform a coastal engineering analysis related to the potential removal of existing groin and breakwater structures. Specifically, the Club was interested in determining the response of the beach profile and geometry to these proposed changes. RACE utilized the CMS - Wave and CMS - Flow software packages to model sediment transport by wave induced currents at the project site. RACE prepared a report of findings detailing the results of the model analyses and comparing these results to field observations.
